Innovation Leads
The Innovation Leads are champions of innovation in health and social care across Wales. They collaborate with experts from various sectors to drive the adoption of new ideas and technologies that enhance patient care and improve service delivery. Working closely with Government agencies, health and social care providers. industry, and academia, they facilitate the sharing of knowledge and guide projects through every stage of the innovation process. Their goal is to deliver impactful solutions that benefit Wales.
Framework
The Innovation Framework is a structured approach to supporting health and social care organisations in Wales. It guides teams through every stage of the innovation process, from identifying challenges and generating ideas to developing, testing, and scaling solutions.Using tried-and-tested tools and methods, the Framework ensures that innovations are implemented effectively. The Framework encourages collaboration, supports evidence-based decision-making, and promotes continuous learning and improvement.

What does the Innovation Framework do?
The Innovation Framework presents activities in order, thus providing guidance about how the NHS and social care might approach innovation activities, working cohesively with their business plan or Integrated Medium-Term Plan (IMTP). Therefore, providing a structure for NHS and Social Care organisations to build their own processes and activities.
In addition, the pathway is a tool for engaging with industry, providing a clear message to businesses that Wales is the place to bring their innovations. The pathway will encourage considering adoption and future deployment strategies at an earlier stage of project development, to ensure that the data required to inform adoption is available when needed.
